Team Re-Brands Ahead of 2026–27 Season
The Fort McMurray Adult Hockey League (FMAHL) will see two familiar organizations take on new identities heading into the 2026–27 season, as both the Pylons and Ref Riders officially announce team re-brands.
After 13 seasons in the league, the Pylons will re-brand as the Northmen beginning in the 2026–27 season. Since joining the FMAHL in the 2013–14 season, the organization has been a consistent presence within the league and has found success across multiple divisions. Over their tenure, the team captured three league championships, including two D Division titles and one C Division championship.
The transition to the Northmen marks a new chapter for one of the league’s longest-standing organizations while continuing the competitive legacy built over more than a decade within the FMAHL.
The league will also see the Ref Riders re-brand as the Bucks for the upcoming season. Despite being one of the newer organizations in the MGHL, joining in the 2024–25 season, the team quickly made an impact by capturing the D Division Championship in their inaugural year.
The move to the Bucks identity represents an exciting fresh start as the organization continues building on its early success within the league.
The FMAHL would like to thank both organizations for their continued commitment to the league and looks forward to seeing the Northmen and Bucks take the ice during the 2026–27 season.
